You read it here first; Cody is SEVENTEEN today.
Seventeen years ago, I was miserable with flu-like symptoms, exhausted from hours of pushing; and on cloud 9! What a beautiful baby. Jet black hair, blue eyes and PERFECT in every way; my first born. I remember coming to the side of his hospital crib; dark outside, dark in the room, and looking over to see these blue eyes just wide awake, I could see snow falling under the lights outside the hospital and it was such a surreal moment for me; I was a MOTHER. And nothing has been the same since.
Cody, I have learned more in YOUR 17 years than I have my own 39. I love you.
