HSM3

For those of you with young 'ens, You know all about Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay and the gang. The little ones and I went last Friday, as soon as I walked in the door from work Callie said "I'm ready to go" and off we went. I have enjoyed the HSM sensation, we came into it late, as usual, but I like the music and the story has not been too foo-foo. The kids and I had a great time and would recommend seeing it!

The little ones INSISTED they have a sleep-over in the CLOSET!

Knowing FULL WELL it would last maybe 20 minutes; we set 'em up and went to bed........

10 minuets later; THEY'RE BACK!! (in they're own beds that it is)

Pumpkin chocolate chip cookie time

I was in a real mood for "fall" food. We had soup for dinner and homemade cookies for dessert, and Daddy and Ethan licked ALL the spoons and such dry.......

ZUMBA!!!!

This has got to be the FUNNEST thing I've done in YEARS! If you see this class offered near you; DO IT!

Crazy Corn Maze!

NAUGHTY, NAUGHTY ETHAN!
Doug and McAfee
Ethan and his cornstalks
Callie and the little McAfee's
Crazy Mom and Dad.......

We had a great time last night at the crazy corn maze with our good friends the McAfee's. If I look back over the past month, I have been having a lot of FUN on Monday and Tuesday nights, and I LOVE IT!

Ethan kept yelling "MORE CORN" and "I have enough corn for EVERYONE"! He really slowed down the whole crowd with his enthusiasm for corn! It was funny before we left, I asked them both if they we're hungry and they said "no. we're going to eat the corn" I guess they thought the corn maze was a buffet!

Sunday afternoon

Twirling.........
Jumping.......
And sliding.........
OH MY!!!!!

Girls night out

My Mother; brilliantly, got me tickets LAST year for my birthday to the musical "Into the Woods" This is my favorite, favorite musical and has been for longer than I can remember. It has been a pretty quick,  year-long wait for my first "live" experience.

My first experience with "Woods" was hearing some music, and I fell in love instantly and knew I would love the play. I am a "musical" person, and I love life's lessons through song.

My Ma knows me very well. It was probably THE BEST birthday gift I've ever had. It was at Hale center theatre, and I was very curious how they we're going to pull it off with such a small setting, and in "the round" but it was SO GOOD. As good as the original with Bernadette Peters, the singing, the costumes and the story we're not altered.

I am going to anxiously await "Wicked" which is coming next year.........

Antelope (stinky) Island

(Debbie. Notice the Mt. Dew?)

The last time I was at Antelope Island, it was approximately 1976? Maybe 1977; the "beach" was COVERED in beatles, you had to walk through probably a foot of them to get to the water, which NO ONE wanted to get into, except my Uncle Jon, who is one year older than me. He decided to get in, and then proceed to OPEN HIS EYES under water! I'm not sure what happened after that, but luckily; nothing like that happened this time. The little ones we're SO excited to be going to "the beach"; whatever. There is "sand" way before you get to the water, but not at the actual water, and it's not exactly swimming water, BUT, we skipped stones, with a little instruction from Daddy, and the kids walked in the water and played and had a good time.

How do you spell........

Callie: CRAZY?

Mom: C*R*A*Z*Y

(pause while she writes it down)

Callie: How do you spell PARENTS?

OH MY GOSH! She is S*I*X, and we are in T*R*O*U*B*L*E.

Late night visitor?

When I came in to get the kids up this morning, I found an extra person in Callie's bunk.....

Callie say's she didn't know he had come to bed with her. When I asked Ethan why he was in there he said "cuz I was scared. I wanted to be with Sissy"

Why are sleeping children so irresistible?

MICHIGAN................

Beautiful Lake Superior sunrise
Pink tree on the way to "paradise" MI
...To funny, but CLOSED
Sunset over Lake Michigan/Mackinac Island
The Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island

I found a disc with these beautiful pictures of Michigan's upper peninsula.  My Mother and I took this trip in October of 2004. For various reasons, this trip was cathartic for my heart-broken Mother. There are colors in the UP that your eyes have never seen, pink trees, orange bushes; colors so vibrant and alive.

While we we're in The Grand Hotel, where "Somewhere in Time" was filmed, we saw the announcement that Christopher Reeves had passed away. I was so excited to have been to the hotel since it is one of my all time favorite movies.

Cold weather walk....

Ethan and I loaded up the stroller for a walk several times last week in the late evening, it was so good to get out and walk, Ethan enjoyed hanging his hand out and touching anything he could reach; trees, fences, and cable boxes. The highlight for him was passing Callies school and I let him get out and play on the playground, he was so cute to come down the slide, stop and ask "can I do it again"?

While I was walking, Ethan would yammer away about whatever he touched, or the Halloween lawn decorations and other subjects. Ethan is full of "stories" these day's and is quite entertaining just to listen to.

"Oh, if life we're only "moments", even now and then a bad one; but if life we're only "moments" then you'd never know you had one"

----Into the Woods

Callie and a "Who"

Let's see now. Cody, Spencer, Callie, Ethan, A Mom and Dad. All in the same spot? YES! It happened, and it was great fun. The kids loved it, all of 'em; Cody wanted to go back to see it, but that was the last night. If you get a chance to see this silly little play, I recommend it.

On the way home, Callie and Cody sang Hannah Montana songs from the back........

Fall in the garden.......

My scarecrow is SO old, but I've had him for 7 yrs
It's quite amazing how many flowers are still blooming
The cutest cat's you'll ever see

I don't decorate for Halloween, it's my least favorite holiday, but I love to decorate the garden for fall. I have such a good time "dressing" my garden with each change of season or holiday, it's something I look forward to and am always excited for the change. Right now, change is all around me and it's exciting to participate in it.

Piano lessons

Callie started piano lessons Monday.  She was so very excited. She's been begging me to let her start with a Sister in our ward and she feels Callie is "ready" to start; she came right home to show us what she'd learned.......

Maybe it will lead to a concert pianist and an actual piano in my home? Maybe there will be Mother/Daughter singing? Maybe the next picture won't make me look 20 lbs** heavier than I am? Next time, I'm NOT getting in the shot!

**I am NOT as heavy as this picture makes me look.....
