A week of creativity

Once upon a time, I was a crafty little thing; ask my Mom, she'll vouch for that! Then I had a baby, then another, and another and ANOTHER...OMG, just HOW MANY DO I HAVE?? I was pleased to "feel" a bit of that creativity return as I tackled a clock that "looks" marble-like but is really just backer-board and several colors of paint, THEN for my bigger projects, I did this magnet board and flower magnets, decided I'll change my kitchen colors and theme around the little buggers. I have to say, the flowers were the more difficult of the two, which I was surprised at, I ruined TWO flowers and had to go back to the craft store to buy more, but in the end, I am so happy with the way it came out. The three "holes" at the top are for three 5x7 photos, and I'm going to take some B&W's to put in there of the kids, already have the "idea" in my head, will use my own new fancy camera and SKILLS :) I (well really Doug) am going to paint the kitchen with the same red color that I used at the top of the board, and will change some of the decorations and window vanlances, the kitchen has been the same since 1997, so it's time, and I knew as soon as I saw this project that I would change the kitchen around it. It felt really good this week to have "something" to do like this, it took me two day's on the flowers, and just a couple hours on the board itself, so between the clock and the board, I've had something to put my energy into this week, and I've loved it!

Thinking...........

I came around the corner to find Ethan in this position........QUANDRY!

To play with Thomas or Lightening McQueen!!!!!!! Oh the decisions that are made on the loo!!!

Fall in the garden

It was time to put out the scarecrow and add all the fall decorations last weekend to my garden. Callie was very into it this year, helped place things in just the right place, and was so cute to "pose" with her new friend who she called "Mr. Scarecrow"
Ethan came a bit later and helped too, but I had put away the camera by then, but watch for some totally cute pictures of him in the next day or so.........

Girls day out

My sister had mentioned about a month ago that she would like to come and take Callie for a pedicure and some shopping, and last week, that's just what they did.
Callie was so excited, and irritatingly asked "WHERE is she"? when she was 20 minutes past the time I told her she was coming!
Callie spent many months in my sister's care when I went back to work when callie was four months old, my sister complained ALL THE TIME about how much maternity time I was taking; as she wanted to have her in her home as soon as possible. Callie was the first girl in our family in about 9 years by then, my brother's daughter Miranda was born in 1994 and then NO GIRLS until 2oo2, my sister was in the delivery room with me when Callie was born, and she has loved her ever since!

I was so grateful that as I would go to work, I KNEW Callie was getting JUST as much love while I was gone as if I never left her; I will alway's be forever grateful for my sister's willingness to give me the opportunity to go to work with no worries about her care. So often, when I would pick her up, she and Callie had been out doing all kinds of fun things, Brandi was enthusiastic about taking her wherever she went; spoiling and loving her.

Family. Nothing better.

Mopping again.....

Mopping is something I used to do everyday, along with vacuuming, I enjoyed doing it, I REALLY liked how clean those two things can make the house look when done everyday.

THEN I had Ethan.

THEN I was lucky to do it once every THREE months!

Then my very good friend, Mcafee, introduced me to this handly little appliance that you put water (distilled) in it, and it blows steam out and you just have to move the thing back and forth! I can do that!

I have really had the best time mopping again, and because it's so fun and not very time consuming, I'm back to doing it again; everyday!

If you have floors, and I KNOW you do, get yourself this handly little tool, it will save you time and can be used on any kind of floor, I have laminate.

The idea of steam is so appealing to us now, that Doug wants the next purchase to be the hand-held steam machine and get rid of all cleaning products, just steam and a paper towel.
