I LOVE Easter! It's my favorite "holiday" by far. I love the snow melting and the tulips and other spring flowers blooming, the only way it get's better is when it falls on the same weekend with conference. We have a sort of tradition now where McAfee and her boy's come over for conference on Sunday and we eat food and talk and laugh and the kids play together. This year, because it was Easter, I had some family here too, my Sister and her family, and my Mother.
We had great food, ham, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, for those who wanted a more formal dinner, and we had chips, rolls, turkey breast for those that wanted a more casual meal, it worked great! Then we watched a really terrific DVD that our home teacher had showed to us a few weeks ago, I thought it would make an excellent Easter message, everyone thought it was great, and I was pleased that we had made the effort to bring a message of the Savior to our gathering, as that is why we were gathered together.
My Ma brought strawberry and lemon pie, Kelly (aka McAfee ;) brought cookies for dessert. At 2pm, we turned General Conference back on and had a good foot in conversing and listening to the speakers, it was a PERFECT Easter day, with the exception of our missing Hopper, he had to work; Arctic Circle apparantly experiences a higher rate of shake purchases on Conference weekend?! who knew?
**have I mentioned it's GOOD to have the camera???
